The Students Dormitory

"John R. Rice" Dormitory
Top floor is for the ladies, the main floor is for
the men.  And ne'er shall they go stray.

The main lobby where groups socialize or may sit and read.

Often you will find someone playing on the piano.

But it is in the dorm rooms where most of student life
occurs.  Here the student must carve out a piece of home
for himself/herself.  Here they must learn to become a
responsible adult; maintaining their property, studying
to pass their courses, building their reputation among
their classmates for integrity, charity and faithfulness.

One of our dorm students resting before going
off to a job in the community.  Most of our
students have jobs to support themselves
while earning their degrees.

Dorm rooms are occupied by two students, and are
spacious and clean.  Michigan has a mild climate,
so life is somewhat pleasant during the struggles
of daily life.

And there is no doubt that the amount of study necessary
can seem tedious and that life does contain much struggle.

Hour upon hour the student will spend working on the
prescribed coursework
.

But the friendships developed,
and the memories made are their own rewards.

One day each student will look back from valuable, productive
lives upon the foundational time they have spent here.

And they will know that through it all they have continually
grown in their Christian character as well as their knowledge.

And isn't this what we all really desire
from Midwestern Baptist College?
